Yaneth Baez

Yaneth Baez, an Assistant State Attorney with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, currently serves in the Human Trafficking Unit where she has led complex investigations and successfully prosecuted high-profile cases. Previously, she was Chief of the Misdemeanor Domestic Violence Unit, overseeing thousands of cases and mentoring new prosecutors. A Miami native, Baez earned her B.S. in political science from Florida International University and her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law where she was recognized for her excellence in trial advocacy and public interest work.  Baez is active in community outreach and professional organizations, including the League of Prosecutors and the National Black Prosecutors Association. She is also a frequent speaker on human trafficking awareness.
